Stallings is located in the southern part of the rapidly growing metropolitanarea of Charlotte, NC. Incorporated very recently, Stallings lacks a propertown center, and the growth occurring because of its advantageous locationwithin metropolitan Charlotte threatens to lock the Town into a cardependent, commuter suburb.Metrocology was retained to master plan the land centered around the TownHall.

The proximity of the Town Hall to a major street intersection and a proposedlight rail line station being built by the Charlotte Area Transit Authorityestablished the parameters around which Metrocology developed a series ofinfill developments based on the neighborhood model. The resulting two, 5-minute walk sheds, informed the structure of the master plan, defining theuse program, street system, and open space network.
