Metrocology in partnership with the Lawrence Group prepared a City-wideCivic Master Plan and established a new municipal office called the Office forCivic Investment, charged with overseeing and implementing the MasterPlan. Metrocology provided staff and led the Office for Civic Investmentduring the creation of the Civic Master Plan.

The Civic Master Plan encompassed the entirety of the municipality. Thedocument was formatted into three distinct parts. The first consisted of a fullaudit and survey of existing conditions, including housing stock andcondition, street and sidewalk inventory, parks and open space assessments,historic building inventory, and a market analysis of retail and housing. Thesecond identified infill and greenfield development opportunities across theentire City, locations for new and/or improved street and intersectioninvestments, and locations for new and expanded parks. The thirdestablished a time-line and accountability table for the over 100 identifiedprojects and interventions illustrated within the Civic Master Plan

Metrocology worked closely with the Open Land Trust, and Beaufort MainStreet Program as well as local builders over the course of two years.Multiple community meetings and presentations were conducted across thefive sectors identified by the Team around which plans and designs wereassigned.
